Fleece fabric is a lightweight, warm fabric made from polyester fibers using a knitting technique, with both sides brushed. Unlike real wool, it is washable, quick-drying, and non-allergenic, making it widely preferred for sportswear and winter casual wear.

Fleece is produced in a weight range of 150–350 g/m²; anti-pilling, water-repellent, and lightweight versions are available. Fleece, which is not resistant to wind, is usually used in a layered clothing system with a windbreaker or rain jacket.
