Poplin fabric is a medium-weight, durable woven fabric with a smooth surface, produced by tightly weaving fine warp and thick weft yarns.
It is typically made from 100% cotton, cotton-polyester blends, or cotton yarns with Lycra (stretch). With its smooth texture, matte luster, and breathable structure, it is frequently preferred in both apparel and home textile sectors.

Historically derived from the "papeline" weave in the Avignon region of France, poplin is today known in the textile world for its balanced texture and shape-retaining properties.
