Frequently Asked Questions

Lace what is fabric?

Lace fabric is a decorative fabric type created by connecting threads through knitting, wrapping, and knotting techniques to form an openwork (perforated) surface, featuring floral, geometric, or abstract patterns. Today, it is largely mass-produced on Raschel and knitting looms, offering options for every budget with a wide variety of colors, patterns, and weights.

Patterns are distributed evenly or freely across the fabric surface; the ground is often a net-like structure, which gives the fabric both lightness and flexibility. The ability to produce it with different yarns such as cotton, polyester, and viscose allows lace to be offered in a wide range of textures, from stiff to soft.

Lace fabric can be used both as a decorative accent and as a standalone design surface. Its durable structure, easy availability, and affordable cost provide versatile use, from everyday wear to home textiles.

Advantages of Lace Fabrics

- Its affordable cost enables widespread production and mass designs.
- The variety of colors and patterns offers choices suitable for every style and season.
- Its flexible structure easily adapts to different draped or fitted patterns.
- Its durable texture retains its shape with frequent use and washing.
- It can be used multi-purposefully as both an accent detail and a main fabric.
