Poplin fabric is a medium-weight, durable woven fabric with a plain surface, created by tightly weaving fine warp and thick weft threads.
It is usually made from 100% cotton, cotton-polyester blends, or elastane (stretchy) cotton yarns. With its smooth texture, matte luster, and breathable structure, it is frequently preferred in both apparel and home textile applications.

Historically derived from a weave called "papeline" in the Avignon region of France, poplin is today known in the fabric world for its balanced texture and shape-retaining properties.
