What is cotton velvet fabric?

Cotton velvet fabric is a type of natural velvet fabric made entirely from cotton yarns or with a high cotton content, and has short, dense pile on its surface.
Compared to classic velvet, it has a more matte, warm, and natural surface. The fact that the pile is made of cotton fibers gives the fabric a soft and breathable texture.

Cotton velvet has a more subdued sheen and a firmer feel compared to synthetic velvets. Therefore, it's an ideal fabric, especially for winter clothing, outerwear, stylish everyday pieces, and vintage-inspired designs.

Thanks to its cotton content, it offers a velvet alternative that is both skin-friendly and retains its shape even with long-term use.

Clothing: Dresses, skirts, bodysuits, trousers, leggings, hoodies, jackets, and suits.

Stage & Performance: Widely used in ballet, dance, opera, theatre, and musical costumes.

Since it is a 100% natural fabric, it may shrink, attention should be paid to the first wash. If possible, the first wash should be done before sewing.

Since it is a natural fabric, it wrinkles especially after washing. Although it does not wrinkle as much as Linen in daily use, it will wrinkle enough to require ironing again when taken out of the suitcase.

Fabrics ordered under 20 meters cannot be returned as they are cut specifically for you and their resalability is impaired. Returns are accepted in case of a defect in the product.
