Frequently Asked Questions

Lace what is fabric?

Lace fabric is a decorative fabric type where threads are intertwined using knitting, twisting, and knotting techniques to create an openwork (perforated) surface, featuring floral, geometric, or abstract patterns. Today, it is largely mass-produced on Raschel and knitting machines, offering a wide variety of colors, patterns, and weights to suit every budget.

Patterns are distributed regularly or freely across the fabric surface; the ground is mostly a mesh structure, which gives the fabric both lightness and flexibility. Its ability to be produced with different yarns such as cotton, polyester, and viscose allows lace to be offered in a wide range of textures, from stiff to soft.

Lace fabric can be used both as a decorative accent and as a standalone design surface. With its durable structure, easy availability, and affordable cost, it has a versatile range of uses, from daily wear to home textiles.
